Day to day stuff
So, it's been a while since I posted, but we've been kinda busy.
First week back at work after 3 months was a shock to the system... Both Alec and I are temping for Auckland City Council in the property information department at the moment. As far as temping goes it's fine, but they work long hours over here. 40 hours a week talking to members of the public takes it out of you, but I am getting used to the systems. On the up side we are getting paid by the hour.
We went to the car fair the weekend before last. I don't think they have car fairs in the UK. It's different to an auction. We went along to see what was available and bought a Subaru Legacy. Had all the checks your supposed to have done on it. Drove it round on Sunday. And then it broke down on Monday. Still - it's been going okay since then so, touch wood, it'll stay like that.
We took a drive out to Coromandal yesterday, which is the furthest we have been out of Auckland. It was very beautiful and the sun made it warm enough to walk along the beach without my jumper between the showers. Alec had a small incident with the car boot which left him with a lump the size of a golf ball on his forehead and we saw a couple of kingfishers.
Planning a trip out to one of the islands next weekend and otherwise doing day to day stuff in Auckland, which is cool, but doesn't seem interesting to blog about. Will try and think of something interesting to write. ;)
