Kites, beads and movies
bed count: 64
Finished our working stint at The Bug, but staying on here for a few days because we like it, and Nelson, so much.
Over the last few days we have had a couple of firsts. Yesterday I went to a bead making workshop in a glass factory and made my own glass beads for the first time. Then last night we went to an outdoor movie for the first time - we watched 'Rebel Without a Cause' on a big screen in one of Nelson's parks, sitting on our rain coats (we were probably the least prepared people there - one couple had brought a sofa). And today we went to our first ever kite festival - lots of massive kites of all shapes and sizes imaginable, including a giant octopus.
Today has been very hot and sunny and what we could really do with now is a paddling pool and a hosepipe for a good water fight in the back garden. Ahh - those were the days.
Anyhow - even with all that activity and working at The Bug, I have managed to get a few more pics online. This time of our time in Wellington and Plimmerton. See the Plimmerton and Wellington photo set on Flickr.
