After a 13 hour plane journey and the humidity of Singapore it is starting to sink in that we have finally made it off on our travels.
Still kinda weird though as Singapore is highly westernised and we are staying with my brother, so it does still feel like we're in this half-world between home and travelling. But maybe that's the lack of sleep...
So, of course, the first thing we do is find a internet cafe so we can sit in front of a PC for half an hour ;) That's a lie actually. The first thing we did (after a small sleep and the best shower ever) was buy an ice cream. Priorities and all that.
And we're only in here now as it's got air-con. Honest...

What Kirsten is not telling you is that the net cafe they found was in the slightly dingy Orchard Towers, reknowned for 'that kind of bar' and affectionately known after dark as "The Four Floors of Whores".
We were only there for the gadget shops...
