Celine bloody Dionne

If I have anything bad to say about Chiang Mai (other than the whole camera tampering episode) it would be that the residents of this fair city seem to have a great fondness for Celine Dionne.

Shes on the stereo in the damned internet cafe again, like it has been every day this week. And its on in the place we have breakfast every morning. Not sure how much more I can take...

Note for content editors and other purists here. Grammar is going to be worse than normal today as Thai style keyboard is replacing certain key punctuation marks with German and Spanish letters of all things...

Anyhow back to the business in hand. Chiang Mai is a rather nice place, Celine Dionne aside. We are staying just within the walls of the old city and a Sunday market sets up in the street right next to the hotel every week. It was a great to wander through last night as its more aimed at locals so the prices are lower and you get less people using a hard sell on you.

As well as the visit to the elephants we have managed a one day cookery course with Chiang Mai Thai Cookery School where we made loads of tasty dishes and a one day batik class at Chiang Mai Batik School where we exercised our artistic side. Nice to be doing something other than lying around on a beach for a change...

Anyway. This keyboard is proving more and more challenging so I will end this entry here. My stomach is rumbling here and tasty smells are coming from the many pubs and food stalls...

More photos on the way. I promise.
