Koh Samui

Okay - for the last week we have been on Koh Samui - one of the most famous of Thailand's islands.

It's been a mixed week. It has rained most days, but only for an hour or so and that's not stopped us doing things (including swimming). But mostly we have been relaxing - on the beach, in the pool, in bars, etc. ("A pool? I thought you were going budget" I hear you cry - well there ain't a lot of hostels in Samui and most are not in great locations. However, when a room at a 'resort' place with a nice pool is only costing 12 quid a night between the two of you, who needs a hostel?).

Many of the bars here put on nightly movies and we happened to be in one showing a very obviously pirated copy of Mission Impossible 3 the other night. The complete pirated experience - including the shadow of someone in the cinema where the film was copied getting up to go to the loo part way through the film...
